Macon rallies to down Dragons
Nolan Bright made the front end of a one-and-one with nine seconds left to play to give Macon the lead and then Ethan Foster blocked a shot at the end of the game as the Tigers defeated the Cameron Dragons, 44-43, in the 2015-2016 basketball season opener Tuesday night at CHS.
Bright missed the second free throw and the Dragons rebounded the ball. Foster then blocked a shot attempt along the baseline by the Dragons Jaxson Frazier as time expired.
The Dragons held a 29-21 lead at the half and took a 39-32 lead into the fourth period before the Tigers rallied for the win.
Kyler Hill led CHS with 13 points. Andrew Pratt and Frazier scored seven points each. Parker McGinnis scored six. Griffin Mefford and Zeke Zeikle added four points apiece and Tristan Michaelis finished with two points.
Bright had a game-high 15 points for Macon and Ethan Bray added nine.
The Dragons return to action Dec. 1 when they host Pattonsburg.
