Virginia Grace 1930-2016

 

Virginia R. Grace passed away peacefully on September 18, 2016 in Renton, Wash. surrounded by loved ones at the age of 85.

 

Born in Cameron on November 23, 1930 to James and Bertha Corn, Virginia graduated from Cameron High, then attended Northwest MO State Teachers College and worked for the Superintendent of Public Education in Cameron.

 

She married Gerald Grace, Jr. in 1953 and the couple settled in Bellevue, Wash. where they raised 3 daughters.

 

Virginia began work for King County in 1964 as a court clerk, retiring in 1991 as Court Administrator. She was a charter member of the WA State Assoc. for Court Administration, serving as president from 1973-1974. Virginia enjoyed her friends and family, travel, crossword puzzles, golf, poker parties, movies, rooting for the Mariners and Seahawks, and throwing her annual Hallowthanksmas party.

 

She is survived by her brothers James (Wanda) Corn of Montana, and Donald (Nancy) Corn of Oregon, her children Nancy Grace, Anita (Brad) Goodrich, Karen Grace, grandchildren Colby Goodrich and Mackenzie Goodrich, all of Wash., step-daughter Gayle (James) Yancey of Oregon, and many other cherished family and friends. Virginia was gracious and kind and will be missed by many.
