Lorene Anderson 1919-2016
Lorene Anderson, 96, of Marshall, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Cameron. Born November 14, 1919, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Lorene was the daughter of the late Lee Meagher and Virgina (Schworm) Meagher. She was a 1937 graduate of Stanberry High School. On June 26, 1937, she married John Eldon Anderson who preceded her in death on April 22, 1984. John and Lorene owned and operated Anderson Dairy in Stanberry for many years and she also was an Avon representative. She lived in Marshall the last 30 years, moving from Cameron, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Survivors include three children: Anita Beth Anderson of Maplewood, N.J., Meri Thompson and husband Rick of Cameron and John Anderson and wife Francie of North Kansas City; five grandchildren, Ashley Kosar and husband Sean, Brittany Samuelson and husband Cole, Eric Anderson, Kyle Thompson and Dana Holaday and husband Steve; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorene was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Judith Kay Anderson; one brother, Everett Meagher; and one sister, Nadyne Rogers.
