Linda Charlotte Griffin1938-2018Columbia – Linda Charlotte Griffin, 79, passed away on December 21, 2018 in Columbia. Linda was born September 9, 1938 to Clifford John “CJ” Kemper Jr. and Genevieve Lorraine (Puckett) Griffin in Cameron, Missouri. On August 18, 1957, Linda married Bob F. Griffin in Cameron, Missouri. He survives of the home. Additional survivors: daughter Julie Lynn (Rick) Wesley of Columbia, Missouri, son Jeffrey Scott Griffin of Lebanon, Tennessee, brother John (Gwen) Kemper, III of Plattsburg, Missouri, five grandchildren: Charlotte, Rachel, Jackson, Madison, Grace, and one great-grandchild Griffin.Linda attended Cameron Elementary and High School until graduation in 1956. She participated in numerous CHS extracurricular activities, but singing was her passion. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the Methodist Church Chancel Choir. Linda was Cameron Beauty Queen, St. Joseph Apple Blossom Queen, and winner of Ted Mack Amateur Hour in Kansas City. She attended the University of Missouri (Columbia) for two years and was Homecoming attendant during her sophomore year. Linda was a devoted mother and homemaker. She graduated from cosmetology school after raising two children and practiced her profession in Cameron. Linda was also an avid golfer and enjoyed her time on the Cameron and Alabama courses with friends and family. Linda was a breast cancer and stroke survivor for over 20 years. Most remember Linda as a sweet lady that was a class act…beautiful both inside and out. She also will be remembered as a strong, courageous woman that always had a smile on her face and faced adversity with kindness, grace and a wonderful laugh. Her husband of over 61 years was by her side until her death.A Celebration of Life to be held in Cameron, Missouri will be announced at a later date.
