Charlene Lippert 1940 - 2019

            Charlene Lippert passed away Monday, May, 13, 2019 in Excelsior Springs, Mo. at the age of 78.

            She was born Oct. 3, 1940, the daughter of Roy and Maymie Langston in Stockton, Calif.  She and grew up and attended school in Stockton.

            Charlene met her husband, Gus Lippert, while he was serving in the United States Navy.  The two were married on March 15, 1959.

            Gus and Charlene moved to rural Idalia, Colo., following his discharge from the Navy.  There, they farmed, ranched and raised their three children.  In 1985, Gus and Charlene moved to Cameron, Mo. where they lived at the time of Gus’ passing in February 2015.

            In her free time, Charlene loved to read and play cards. Through the hardships of her life, Charlene’s faith in God never waivered.  She will be remembered for her strength and compassion in caring for her loved ones in their times of need.

            Charlene is survived by her son Richard Lippert and wife Lisa, Excelsior Springs; son-in-law Bill Switlik, Cameron; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

            She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 56 years, Gus; daughters Rebecca Mull and Rhonda Switlik; son-in-law Don Mull; sister Geri Jones; brothers LeRoy, Richard and Tom Langston.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlene Lippert Memorial Fund in care of Knodel Funeral Home, 202 S. Benton St., St. Frances, KS 67756.

            Funeral services were held May 17 at Salem Lutheran Church in Saint Frances, Kan.  Interment followed at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.  A celebration of Charlene’s life was held on May 22 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs.
