Buddy L. Lane 1931-2017


Kansas City, Kan.- Buddy Lewis Lane, 86, passed away December 29, 2017.

Buddy was born on July 23, 1931 in Richmond to Hobert and Eileen (Williams) Lane. They preceded him in death.

He was a 1949 graduate of Cameron High School.  He worked as a baker for Mallory’s Bakery, Cameron and Rainbow Bread Company, St. Joseph. Buddy owned and operated Lanes Bakery in Marshall and then worked for Associate Groceries for over 20 years, before retiring.

Buddy was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member and Commander Marshall of American Legion Post #191.

Survivors include cousins, Norman (Jean) Newby, Cameron; neighbors, Jim Frizelle II and Angela Wiglesworth, Kansas City, Kan.; half-brother, David Asher and cousin, Mahlon Wood.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018 at Harlan Cemetery, Cameron. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m., Monday, prior to the service at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.
