Lady Dragons Basketball Gears Up Mike Hanrahan

Watching high school basketball is a great way to spend a winter evening

The 2018-19 Lady Dragons basketball team is looking forward to a good year. They will be an experienced team with many players returning from last year. The roster includes 22 players, although one will be unavailable due to an injury. The team will boast 6 seniors and 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 10 freshmen. Coach Matt Wenck reports that practices are going well, and he is seeing big improvements in most players, who are quickly beginning to gel as a team.

The Midland Empire Conference is always competitive and while St. Joseph Benton is the early conference favorite, he expects the Lady Dragons to be very competitive and be in the mix at the top. Cameron should have a strong team based on its experience and how well the team is performing in practice.

The Lady Dragons open their season at Macon on Tuesday, November 20. Their first home game will be against Excelsior Springs on Tuesday, November 27. Both the men and the women will be fun to watch this year and are hoping to have a lot of fan support. Watching high school basketball is a great way to spend a winter evening. Go Dragons!
