COVID-19 Update from the Mayor (06/03/20)

The Mayor's update to citizens regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

**CURRENT UPDATE**

To: The Residents of the City of Cameron

Fortunately, our incidences of the virus have not significantly changed in our four-county area in the last several weeks.  This is not to say, however, that restrictions are lifted.  Order 20-03 is still in effect.

I would like to reiterate what the Department of Health and Senior Services stated in its May 28th Order:

When individuals leave their homes or places of residence, they should at all times practice social distancing.

Businesses in the State of Missouri shall abide by social distancing requirements, including maintaining six feet (6’) of space between individuals.  Individuals performing job duties that require contact with other people closer than six feet (6’) should take enhanced precautionary measures.

People shall not visit nursing homes, long-term care facilities, retirement homes, or assisted living homes.

Retail sales to the public shall limit the number of individuals as per previous Order.

Restaurants may offer dining-in services, provided that there is proper spacing of at least six feet (6’) between tables and having no more than ten (10) people at a single table.  Drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options are encouraged.

That Order is in effect until June 15, 2020.

Since things have begin opening up on the June 1st, we will watch very carefully until June 15th to see if any changes to these restrictions are warranted.

The City Hall lobby is now open during normal business hours with the Order 20-03 restrictions in place, but the Police Department lobby will remain closed.

As always, please contact us at City Hall if you have any questions or concerns (816) 632-2177.

Sincerely,

Darlene Breckenridge, Mayor
