EXCELSIOR SPRINGS — The Cameron High School Dragon Wrestling Team will

be well represented at the February 27 Sectional Tournament after

advancing the entire team while taking the District 8 Tournament last

Saturday.

The Dragons took the tournament by more than 100 points over

second-place Excelsior Springs, which has many Cameron wrestlers

optimistic about their chances when they return to Excelsior Springs

for the sectional tournament.

“We’re just a solid team. In every weight class we have a kid that can

compete. I feel like we’re going to bring everybody to state,” said

Ryker Smith, who was among five Cameron wrestlers capturing the

district title Saturday.
